BSMS Shines at Glendenning Green/Lafayette Co. Meet
On a blustery day last Monday (April 10th) the BSMS track squads loaded the bus and headed to Monroe for the annual Glendenning Green/Lafayette Co. Track Meet. The boys squad had a stellar performance as they tallied 210 points to easily outdistance Monroe Red (135) and Albany (127) to claim their first ever Monroe Invitational title. Leading the way for the boys were; David Germaine -1st 400m (52.41), Christian Vig Rask - 1st shot (40' 9.5”), Jeremiah Bailey 1st HJ (5' 10”), the 4x100 relay - 1st (Aaron Coffey, Lance Lierman, Ethan Shetler, Ben Sigwarth) 47.29, the 4x200 relay - 1st (Sigwarth, Shetler, Lierman, Bailey) 1:38.69, and the 4x800 relay - 1st (Ryan Krueger, Josh Redfearn, Aaron Pulvermacher, Troy Turpin) 8:56.38. Also placing in the top three on the afternoon were; Aaron Coffey (2nd 100m), Lance Lierman (3rd 100m, 2nd LJ), Jeremiah Bailey (3rd 110HH), Ben Davis (2nd pole vault, 2nd HJ), Tyler Allen (3rd HJ), Caleb O'Neill (3rd TJ), Jacob Winslow (2nd shot, 3rd discus), Shane O'Neill (2nd discus), and the 4x400 relay (Pulvermacher, Redfearn, Turpin, C. O'Neill) finished 2nd.
For the ladies, first place finishes were turned in by; Brianna Leahy - in the shot (38' 7”) and discus ( 119' 8.5”) also Katie Pingel in the TJ (33' 5”). Other top three performances; Paige Murphy (2nd LJ, 3rd 100m), Abbey Pahnke (3rd 3200m), Emma Lawrence (3rd 100HH, 2nd 300H), Trinity Law (2nd HJ),
the 4x100 relay 2nd (Matthews, Law, Jerry, Murphy), the 4x200 relay 2nd (Murphy, Jerry, Law, Matthews), and the 4x400 relay which finished in 2nd (Kruger, Law, Jerry, Pingel). On the day the girls scored 130.5 points to take third place behind Monroe Red (144.5) and Monroe White (140).
