BSMS Competes at River Ridge
Last Tuesday, (18th) the BSMS track and field squads headed to Bloomington to take part in the 7 team meet hosted by River Ridge. On the day, the boys tallied 129 points to grab third place behind River Ridge (181.5) and Albany (149.5). The girls rolled up 62 points good enough for 4th place behind eventual winner River Ridge's (205.5).
Setting new Scales Mound School Records were Christian Vigrask who tossed the shot 44' 02” (2nd) and Ben Davis who cleared 10' 6” in the pole vault (1st). Also having an impressive afternoon were; Matt Davis (1st HJ- 5'6”, 2nd 300H – 49.12), Jacob Winslow (2nd discus – 115'05”), Caleb O'Neill (3rd 200m- 25.89), Alan Montanye (3rd 100m – 12.29), the 4x100 relay (2nd – 50.91) Reid Scott, Oren Charles, Caleb O'Neill, Alan Montanye, and the 4x400 relay (2nd – 4:16.63) Brett Cargill, William Martin, Josh Cole, and Nic Davis. The girls were led by double winner Brianna Leahy ( shot- 38' 10” and discus – 116' 10”), Sarah Lee (1st 3200m – 16:21.15), Abby Pahnke (4th 1600m – 6:25.07), and 5th place finishes by Donna Coley in the discus (71' 06”) and Megan Greenfield in the shot (27' 01”).
Up next for the tracksters are the Cuba City Becker Invitational (Thur. April 27th, 4:00pm) and the Fennimore Invitational (Monday, May 1st, 3:45 pm).
